Pagsuyo: Courting the Indigenous

The "Pagsuyo: Courting the Indigenous" study circle brings together our Kapwa from across the diaspora for a virtual monthly gathering featuring teachings anchored in the wisdom and life's work of our lead teachers Leny Strobel and Lily Mendoza.

The upcoming Pagsuyo cohort focuses on re-membering and embodying Kapwa consciousness and connections with others -- including more-than-human kin -- through "Ethnoautobiography." According to Ka Leny, ethnoautobiography is a framework for getting to know our long body; this is a Haudenosaunee concept which is akin to the Filipino concept of kapwa.

In August, 2024, our kapwa community gathered in-person for the first time since the global pandemic. CfBS is grateful for about 100 beloveds who opened their hearts to immerse in teachings from CfBS elders about "Kapwa Nilalang: Becoming Good Kin,  Recovering Our Earth-Honoring Traditions of Spirituality."
